The Blood of Blessing: Delivered From the Curse & Restored in IdentityScripture: Matthew 26:27, John 8:36, Isaiah 53:3–5
The Source of Power
Jesus declared: “I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]” (John 10:10 AMP).
The real source of power is not found in the world, but in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. His blood is stronger than any curse, stronger than any demonic power, and powerful enough to break every chain of emptiness, poverty, and death.
Through His blood, we are set free from the curse and restored into our true identity in Him.
The Blood of Conquest – Delivered From The Curse
When Jesus wore the crown of thorns, blood flowed from His brow (Matt. 27:28–30). This was no accident—it was prophetic fulfillment. In Genesis 3, God told Adam that the ground would now produce thorns and thistles, a symbol of the curse and man’s struggle to survive.
But Jesus took that curse upon Himself. When the crown pierced His head, He broke the curse of poverty, striving, and defeat.
Galatians 3:13–14 (NLT):“But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law… Through Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing He promised to Abraham…”
Truth: The blood from Jesus’ brow means we are no longer cursed but blessed. Our authority, prosperity, and dominion are restored. We are not meant to survive—we are meant to conquer.
The Blood of Identity – Restored to Wholeness
Jesus also shed blood from His face when He was struck, mocked, and disfigured (John 19:1–3; Isaiah 52:14). His face was marred beyond recognition so that our true identity could be restored.
Today, many believers struggle with identity issues:
Confusion, insecurity, and low self-worth
Depression, fear, and anxiety
People-pleasing and the need for approval
Anger, jealousy, and pride
But through Christ’s blood, we receive a new identity:
I am a new creation (my nature changed).
I am a child of God (my family changed).
I am a citizen of heaven (my address changed).
I am part of the Bride of Christ (my priorities changed).
I am an ambassador of God (my mission changed).
I am an heir of God (my limitations changed).
I am seated with Christ (my position changed).
Truth: Jesus’ blood restores our confidence, dignity, and purpose. We don’t live bound by confusion—we live as sons and daughters of God.
Overcoming By the Blood
Revelation 12:11 declares: “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…”
We are saved from emptiness and made whole through the blood of Jesus. The curse is broken, the blessing is released, and our identity is restored.
Reflection for Cell Leaders
Breaking the Curse:
Where do you see traces of the curse (poverty, striving, fear) in people’s lives?
How can you help members apply the blood of conquest through prayer?
Identity in Christ:
Which of the “seven identity statements” speaks most to your life right now?
How can you encourage others to see themselves as God sees them?
Living Blessed to Bless:
How can your cell group use God’s blessing to impact your community?
In what ways can “blessed to be a blessing” shape your group’s mission?
Final Encouragement
Jesus shed His blood not only to forgive sins but to break every curse and restore your identity. You are not defined by emptiness or brokenness—you are blessed, redeemed, and chosen.
Today, apply the blood of Jesus over your life. Live in your authority, embrace your identity, and walk as a Kingdom child—blessed to be a blessing.
